Live-in care

Live-in care is when you stay with your client in their home to provide dedicated support, day and night. It’s personal care that relies on a close relationship built on a deep understanding of the client's needs.

Personal care

As a care assistant working in live-in care, you’ll be responsible for helping someone with everything from getting up, bathing and doing hair or make-up, to using the toilet and taking medicines. Each client will have their own needs that may also vary from day to day, so you’ll offer the support that’s needed, when it’s needed. This can be by lightening the load of everyday domestic chores and by helping your client with things like with cleaning, preparing meals, shopping and other life tasks.

Beyond care

You’ll also help your client to maintain their links with their family and friends. This could include supporting them with public outings and enjoying a variety of social activities together. That’s why it’s important that you and your client feel safe and comfortable in each other’s company

We operate a client-matching service to ensure the best fit between you and the person you support. Sometimes this is based on some particular shared attribute, skill, or interest, but sometimes it's just about chemistry. Either way, we take the time to get it right.

Achieving a good work-life balance

Live-in care gives you the time to deliver personal one-to-one support to your client. And you can quickly see for yourself how your care is positively impacting your client as they grow visibly happier, more confident and independent. Living with the client you support doesn't mean never getting to take a break alone however, and our live-in care assistants get the work-life balance they need. This means enjoying regular time away from your duties with the support of colleagues ready to step in and cover when needed.
